With CSS being so prevalent in todays world wide web, it was actually very hard to find websites that didn't have CSS.
The website that promoted Jackie Chan's book :
http://www.randomhouse.com/features/iamjackiechan/
Does it apply the Principles of Visual Communications?
-Yes and no.
-If viewed in the resolution of its time 800 x 600, it actually does somewhat follow the rule of thirds.
-The white/black/yellow text on red background is clearly visible.
-The use of space is quite haphazard, especially the gap in the middle.
-The flow of the design is split into two from the top left.
Does it use CSS?
-Not at all!
What makes this site good?
-For one of the oldest sites on the internet, this website has the looks of a regular CSS styled page today. Quite an achievement for a site of its time. Also, as will be talked about in the presentation this week, it follows the trends of pages without CSS.
